Community Presentation of “Lilia,” Monday, Nov. 15

November 4, 2010

Monday, November 15, 7:30–8:45 p.m. CST

Campus: Principia School (St. Louis, MO)

Location: Ridgway Auditorium

Program: Libby Skala will present a one-woman play about her grandmother, actress Lilia Skala. Libby says of her grandmother, “Lilia Skala overcame tremendous obstacles to become the first woman architect and engineer in Austria, before arriving in America as a penniless Hitler refugee who spoke no English. Through her study of Christian Science, she worked her way out of a zipper factory to a 50-year career on Broadway, in television and film—collecting Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe nominations. She always said, ‘I love acting, but I love Christian Science even more.’ ” The performance is open to the community.

This is an amazing show, written and performed by a talented actress and writer. It is at once engaging, informative, funny, and a lovely tribute to another amazing woman. Don’t miss this show tonight.
